EVC Hi-End MUSES® Electronic Volume Control

EVC Hi-End MUSES®  Mini Electronic Volume Control board is a complete ready to use two channel volume control unit that requires a power supply and control signals to operate.

The unit is built using a unique NJR MUSES®72320 volume control chip.  The same chip was used by legendary Nelson Pass in his highly acclaimed XP-30 line preamplifier.  Unlike other electronic volume control chips, this chip does not  include any active circuitry, and therefore provides vanishingly low level of noise and distortions.  The performance of the entire volume control system is completely dominated by the quality of an opamp or a buffer (if no gain is required) that follows the MUSES® volume control chip.

While the EVC is offered as a ready to use product, it presents plenty room for experiments.  The output opamp is installed in a socket, and may be replaced by any dual  JFET opamp with a standard pinout.  Bipolar type opamps may also be used with a few extra components placed in the provided footprints.  The board also features axtra footprints for single opamps, and dual ones with just one one section used.

A high quality MUTE relay is provided to eliminate any unwanter noises  from power-up/power-down processes.
